🚀 How to Make Chalk and Vinegar Pop Rockets at Home

🧪 Materials

• Empty cardboard tubes (toilet paper roll size)
• Plastic bottle caps (or cardboard discs to seal one end)
• Sidewalk chalk (different colors)
• White vinegar
• Baking soda
• Small funnel
• Spoon
• Small paper towels or tissue
• Safety goggles
• Outdoor open space

🚀 Instructions

1. Prepare the rocket
   • Seal one end of the cardboard tube with a bottle cap or a sturdy cardboard disc.
   • Make sure it fits tightly.
2. Crush the chalk
   • Break colored sidewalk chalk into small pieces or crush it into coarse powder.
3. Fill the tube
   • Add about 2–3 tablespoons of crushed chalk to the tube.
4. Prepare the baking soda packet
   • Wrap 1 tablespoon of baking soda in a small piece of paper towel and twist it closed.
5. Add the vinegar
   • Pour about 2 tablespoons of white vinegar into the tube.
6. Launch the rocket
   • Quickly drop the baking soda packet into the tube.
   • Immediately place the tube upright on the ground with the sealed end facing down.
